A minute in history

This is the beginning of a new day.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
leaving in its place something I have traded for it.
I want it to be a gain, not a loss;
good, not evil;
success, not failure —
in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it today.

A variation of "live each day as if it was your last."

Not, of course, meaning living it in wild hedonism, but seriously thinking about saying and doing the important things to and for the people you care about. It makes you a better person in the end as well!

Good on you, and happy new year dear Kitty.

Happy New Year to you too, Truestarr.
I am a work in progress. With hopefully many more years left to fine-tune myself. I am striving to become a better person and each day I am mindful to be sure to be taking steps in that direction. I guess only time will tell.

At least I am aware that work needs to be done on myself. The way I see it, it's rather a complete restoration job! But, no cowboy builders, my renovation job on myself will be done strictly to code. With plenty of lime mortar for all these cracks I keep finding.

As long as we bear in mind that one woman's waste is another woman's grace!

2011, look out! Here comes Kitty!

Oh, Pliers, you make me giggle!
I shall face each adversary and smile, thus disarming them completely.
I shall remember there are millions of women who are lovelier, more fit, wealthier, more intelligent and better at just about everything... than I... Yet!
There is only one female that combines all of my frustrating, humorous, enchanting, contradictory and worthy attributes in a slightly ageing but still (mostly) red-haired container. And that's me.
2011 will be my year to make that utterly apparent.
So, indeed, watch out 2011, I'm here!

Comments are the clotted cream and fresh strawberry jam on the freshly-baked scones of my thoughts. Thank you for them, they're delicious!
